Schulze is the German title for a village mayor in a Mennonite settlement in Prussia, Russia, Manitoba, Mexico, and Paraguay. The Schulze calls meetings (see Schulteboat) and is the responsible civic leader of a village and is in turn responsible to the Oberschulze of the Mennonite settlement.
