Jan Gerrit Boekenoogen was a Dutch Mennonite minister, son of Lucas Fredrik Boekenoogen, b. 17 July 1856, at [[Wormerveer (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Wormerveer]], d. 7 January 1933, at [[Bussum (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Bussum]]. He studied at the university and the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Theological Seminary (Kweekschool)|Mennonite seminary in Amsterdam]], became a ministerial candidate in 1880, and served the congregations of [[Wormer (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Wormer]] and [[Jisp (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Jisp]] (1881-1884), [[Hindeloopen (Friesland, Netherlands)|Hindeloopen]] (1884-1885) and [[Krommenie (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Krommenie]] (1885-1922). He received the Th.D. degree at Amsterdam in 1884. Except for his doctoral dissertation, he published only a few sermons. He compiled a new catalog of the Mennonite literature in the Amsterdam Library, which was published in 1919. He received the Th.D. degree at Amsterdam in 1884. Except for his doctoral dissertation, he published only a few sermons.
