Abraham Tancreet (or Tanghereet), an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, burned at the stake in [[Ghent (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Ghent]], [[Belgium]], 7 August 1559. He was born at [[Nukerke (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Nukerke]] (Nijpkerke) in Flanders and was a tailor by trade. On the Friday following Whitsunday he was captured with eleven others.
