Claes Ysbrands of Monnikendam, Dutch province of North Holland, an Anabaptist preacher and leader who is said to have baptized many people, was beheaded at The Hague on 28 April 1535 (not in May 1535 at Monnikendam, as was formerly generally accepted). Of his activities we only know that he was very active in his home town of Monnikendam.
