Jacob Kuiper was a Dutch Mennonite pastor, b. at [[Koog aan de Zaan (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Koog aan de Zaan]], d. 1825 at [[Deventer (Overijssel, Netherlands)|Deventer]]. After studying at the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Theological Seminary (Kweekschool)|Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary]], he served [[Makkum (Friesland, Netherlands)|Makkum]] 1773-1775 and Deventer 1775-1820. Jacob Kuiper was a Dutch Mennonite pastor, b. at Koog aan de Zaan, d. 1825 at Deventer. After studying at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary, he served Makkum 1773-1775 and Deventer 1775-1820. He was an ardent Patriot, who in 1788 had to leave the town of Deventer for some time because he was threatened by the wrath of the Orange Party. Kuiper published three philosophical treatises, all awarded prizes and published by the Teyler Society at Haarlem: Over Gods byzondere Voorzienigheid (1782), Over de onverschilligheid en den verstandigen ijver voor Godsdienstige waarheden (1788), and Over de grondregel der Protestanten of het regt op en de verpligting tot eigen oordeel in den Godsdienst (1791).
