Aberdeen, a city (population 1,500 in 1950; 1,840 in 2000), situated in southeastern [[Idaho (USA)|Idaho]], Bingham County, not far from the west shore of the American Falls Reservoir Lake. In the 1950s approximately 261 Mennonite church members lived within shopping distance of Aberdeen. All belong to the [[General Conference Mennonite Church (GCM)|General Conference Mennonite]] congregation, the only one in the area, organized in June 1907. Of these, 43 per cent lived in the town.
