On 22 May 1876 Johann married Emilie Wohlgemuth (14 April 1858, [[Deutsch-Wymysle (Masovian Voivodeship, Poland)|Deutsch-Wymysle]], Poland - 3 April 1930, Deutsch-Wymysle, Poland), daughter of Heinrich Wohlgemuth and Anna (Foth) Wohlgemuth. Johann and Emilie had 13 children, including 8 that died in infancy or childhood. Johann died on 25 January 1942 in Deutsch-Wymysle.
