After providing assistance to an indigenous Honduran community in San Marcos after a fire, the New Order Amish began to provide Bible study and church services in San Marcos.  
  
In 2014 the church had 44 members and was a member of the [[Mennonite Christian Fellowship]]. The ministerial team included Bishop Ervin Schlabach and Ministers Glen Hochstetler and Urie Kanagy.

San Marcos Mennonite Church is located in Guaimaca, Honduras. The church had its roots in a New Order Amish community that had relocated from the Aylmer Old Order Amish community in 1969.
