Frans Dammasz (Frans van Bolsward, or Francis of Bolsweert), an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, was burned at the stake, 28 March 1545 at [[Leeuwarden (Friesland, Netherlands)|Leeuwarden]], Dutch province of [[Friesland (Netherlands)|Friesland]], having been seized because of his refusal to give an oath.
