Her name is celebrated in a hymn, "Geroert ben ick van binnen" (I am inwardly stirred), which is found in the Nieu Liedenboeck of 1562, as well as in the Lietboecxken van den Offer des Heeren of 1563 (No. 23) and Tweede Liedeboeck of 1583. In this hymn she is called only Maeyken (Mayken).
