Janneken de Jonckheere (Joncheere), an Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake on 21 July 1562, at Ghent, Belgium, together with her sisters Vyntgen and Goudeken and two other Mennonites. She was born at Merendree in Flanders. She was about 26 years of age. Further particulars were not available. Van Braght, Martyrs' Mirror, mentions this martyr twice, once in 1562, without exact date and once in 1569, which is wrong. Janneken is celebrated in a song, "Als men schreef duyst vijfhondert jaar, ende twee en tsestich mede," found in the Lietboecxken van den Offer des Heeren, 1578 and following editions.
