Kunz was an Anabaptist who died as a martyr between Christmas 1536 and 10 April 1537 at Bozen, Austria (now Italy). Particulars are not known. The cross-examination of his traveling companion, Kaspar Huber, under Christoph Ochs in Michelsburg in the Puster Valley, revealed that both had come into Tyrol from Moravia. Huber had been baptized at Auspitz by Jakob Hutter in 1535, was imprisoned at Schoneck in Tyrol, and was likewise put to death for his faith.
