Camp Kadesh is a ministry of Mid Prairie Scripture Mission Inc. (MPSM), an inter-denominational, church-based, non-profit organization with headquarters in the town of Dalmeny, Saskatchewan. Camp Kadesh is located at 53.587°N 105.8356°W on the north west shore of Christopher Lake, 48 km northwest of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and comprises about 19 hectares (47 acres). The MPSM member churches in 2010 were Dalmeny Bible Church, Langham Evangelical Bible Church, Sutherland Evangelical Church, Hague Gospel Church, Martensville Mission Church, Warman Gospel Church, and Salem Church (Waldheim).
Camping began in 1947 on the premises of Tabor Bible School in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan. It continued here until 1952 when it moved to Turtle Lake, Saskatchewan, and where it ended in 1956. For the next 25 years camping programs were held in various rented facilities around the province. In 1979 the property that became Camp Kadesh was purchased and by 1982 a road had been built and the first campers arrived. Improvements such as cabins, which numbered 15 in 2010 and a mobile home for the director followed. In 1986 a large chalet was built and winterized in 1995 with schools and church groups renting the camp year round. In 2002 a total of 852 children camped in the summer with Kelly Peters as Director. In 2010 Bob Conrad served as Director and Arleen Guenther as Associate Director.
The vision of Camp Kadesh has been to encourage a commitment to Jesus Christ and to provide Biblical, Christ-centered discipleship helping the supporting churches fulfill their purpose of evangelism, Christian growth and service through camps, retreats and conferences.
