Fredeshiem (House of Peace; now Buitengoed Fredeshiem) was a Dutch Mennonite brotherhood home (Broederschapshuis; retreat center) in a lovely wooded spot about three miles east of [[Steenwijk (Overijssel, Netherlands)|Steenwijk]], province of [[Overijssel (Netherlands)|Overijssel]]. It was built in 1929 and was used in the early 1950s as a recreation center, convalescent home, and a quiet place for all who want rest. Sometimes conferences were also held here, e.g., by the [[Doopsgezinde Vredesgroep|Dutch Mennonite Peace Group]]. It is open throughout the year and had  in the 1950s a capacity of about one hundred guests. It was managed by a committee of five members.
