Steenwijk, a town (1947 pop. 8,677, with 171 Mennonites) in the Dutch province of [[Overijssel (Netherlands)|Overijssel]], the seat of a Mennonite congregation. This congregation had formerly its seat at [[Zuidveen (Overijssel, Netherlands)|Zuidveen]], a hamlet about two miles south of [[Steenwijk (Overijssel, Netherlands)|Steenwijk]]. This congregation had formerly its seat at Zuidveen, a hamlet about two miles south of Steenwijk. For the early history of this church see Zuidveen.
