Wenisch Keller (Kellner, Köhler), a Hutterite, was ordained in Moravia as a preacher in 1578, and as elder in 1580; in 1584 he and six other Brethren were sent out as missionaries; and on 6 May 1593 he died at Lewar (Levary) in Hungary. He is the author of the song, "Wach auf, ihr Kinder Gottes all" (Wolkan, Lieder, 233). In Gottmading near Schaffhausen he wrote letters to Matthias Binder, Michael Veldthaler, and Klaus Braidl on 12 and 14 August 1584 reporting on his work and success in the neighborhood of Zürich.
