Lenaert de Schoolmeester (i.e., schoolteacher, because he formerly had been a schoolteacher at Aiken in the territory of Liege, Belgium) was a Mennonite elder. The Dutch martyr Jater told during her trial in 1550 that she had heard him preach in 1540 at Maastricht, Dutch province of Limburg. He impressed upon his hearers that they should live "after the way and doctrines of the apostles" and that they would be persecuted because of the name of God. Lenaert had also baptized Jater. He may have been identical with Lenhard van Maastricht, Leenaert van Yzenbroek, and Leonhard Falber.
