Aert (van Gershoven), a native of Tongeren in Brabant, Belgium, an Anabaptist martyr, not in the martyr books, was drowned at Antwerp at the Steen prison on 17 October 1562, together with his brother, Jacob van Gershoven, because he was rebaptized and persisted in the doctrine of the Anabaptists.
