De Lange is a common Dutch family name, of which there is also a Mennonite branch. This is found at Zaandam from the late 18th century, although in the 19th century some of its members also lived at Alkmaar. Fourteen members of this family have served as deacons in the congregation of Zaandam-West. At Alkmaar Timon Henricus de Lange was 1849-1881 a deacon and Jan de Lange Corn. Jzn (1852-1940) served as deacon and president of the church board 1877-1940, i.e., for nearly 63 years, 37 of which he was president of the church board. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Jan's service his historical study Beknopte Geschiedenis der Doopsgezinde Gemeente te Alkmaar was published by the church board in 1927.

R. C. de Lange (b. 1891) was a Mennonite minister, serving at Woudsend 1915-1919, Leermens-Loppersum 1919-1923, Krommenie ca. 1923-1927, and Aalsmeer 1927-1956.
