Dirck Jansz was an Anabaptist martyr, originally of Borkelt near Münster, Westphalia, Germany, and afterwards a citizen of Middelburg, Dutch province of Zeeland, He was tortured at Middelburg, but refused to name his brethren. He remained steadfast and maintained his opinion, for which reason he was "punished" by being strangled and burned at the stake. The date of execution was likely 5 February 1561.
