Wedel, Benjamin (1766-1813)

Benjamin Wedel was born 7 August 1766, the son of Benjamin Wedel (1742-85) and Trincke Schmidt (see additional information for further information regarding Benjamin's family). He was baptized at the age of 17 and on 13 November 1785, was married to Sarcke Ratzlaff. He served the Przechovka Mennonite Church as minister from 1791 and as elder 1794-1809. He died 14 April 1813.

Additional Information

The parents of Benjamin were Benjamin Wedel (27 October 1742 - 4 January 1785) and Trincke (Schmidt) Wedel (7 July 1743, Deutsch Konopat, Prussia - 22 April 1808).

The wife of Benjamin was Sarcke Ratzlaff (23 October 1764 - 3 January 1848), the daughter of Hinrich Ratzlaff (1732-1768) and Sarcke (Ratzlaff) Ratzlaff (1730-1809).

Benjamin and Sarcke had the following children: Maricke, Anna, Peter, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Efcke. Two other children died in infancy.
