Paul Wappler, professor at the Real-gymnasium in Zwickau, Saxony, Germany, was born 18 September 1868, at Auerbach (Vogtland); he died 3 January 1915 in Zwickau. He was the author of the following books significant for Anabaptist study: Die Stellung Kursachsens und des Landgrafen Philipp von Hessen zur Täuferbewegung (Münster, 1910, 254 pp.); Die Täuferbewegung in Thüringen von 1526 bis 1584 (Jena, 1913, 541 pp.); also Thomas Münzer in Zwickau und die "Zwickauer Propheten" (Zwickau, 1908); Inquisition und Ketzerprozesse in Zwickau zur Reformationszeit dargestellt im Zusammenhang mit der Entwickelung der Ansichten Luthers und Melanchthons über Glaubens- und Gewissensfreiheit (Leipzig, 1908).
