Otto Vinck, an estate steward at Wesel in Rhineland, Germany, in whose house Henric Rol administered baptism in February or early March 1534; among the persons then baptized was Vinck himself. Jan van Geelen visited him in December 1534 or January 1535. On 18 January 1535, Vinck, who was an instrument of the revolutionary leaders at Münster, was arrested, being charged with an attempt to create a revolt at Wesel. On 13 April 1535, he was beheaded. The question whether his activity was connected with the expec­tation of many Dutch Anabaptists that Wesel would be "the new Zion" is still to be studied.
