<em>Verhaal van't gene verhandelt ende besloten is in de By-eenkomste tot Leyden</em> is the printed report (published at [[Amsterdam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Amsterdam]], 1661) of a meeting of a number of [[Flemish Mennonites|Flemish]] elders, preachers, and deacons, held at [[Leiden (Zuid-Holland, Netherlands)|Leiden]], Holland, on 18-22 June 1660. This meeting was called by the congregations of Rotterdam, [[Dordrecht (Zuid-Holland, Netherlands)|Dordrecht]], [[Gouda (Zuid-Holland, Netherlands)|Gouda]], and Leiden to discuss the growing liberalism of the Flemish Mennonites, as taught by [[Galenus Abrahamsz de Haan (1622-1706)|Galenus Abrahamsz]] of Amsterdam and [[Maurik, Willem van (1625-1710)|Willem van Maurik]] at [[Utrecht (Utrecht, Netherlands)|Utrecht]]. At this meeting of conservative leaders 19 congregations were represented; three others sent a letter of agreement. [[Braght, Tieleman Jansz van (1625-1664)|Tieleman Jansz van Braght]] of Dordrecht was its moderator, [[Weenigem, Bastiaan van (ca. 1625-1697)|Bastiaan van Weenighem]] of Rotterdam its secretary. A survey of the strict Flemish doctrines was presented and a number of congregations, e.g., [[Schiedam (Zuid-Holland, Netherlands)|Schiedam]], were accused of laxity in maintaining the doctrines as formulated in the confessions of faith. Some congregations were reproved for permitting their members to partake in the [[Communion|communion]] services of [[Waterlanders|Waterlander]] and [[Frisian Mennonites|Frisian]] congregations and for admitting Waterlander preachers to their pulpits.

It was resolved to urge Galenus Abrahamsz either to abandon his views or "to stand still" in his ministry; a committee was appointed to admonish him (Galenus refused to receive this committee). It was also resolved to compile a new confession of faith out of the existing confessions, and a committee was appointed to this end (the confession, however, did not materialize).

The Leiden meeting, sometimes ironically called the "[[Leidsche Synode|Leidsche Synode]]" by the progressive Mennonites, was actually the beginning of the [[Lammerenkrijgh|Lammerenkrijgh]], which led to the [[Lamists|Lamist]]-[[Zonists|Zonist]] schism.
