Swanson Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Delisle, Saskatchewan, Canada)
The Swanson Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation near Swanson, Saskatchewan, Canada was established in 1978. The congregation started when families began to move to the area from Linden, Alberta in 1977. Other families came from the Hague, Saskatchewan area.
The congregation organized on 10 June 1978. Initially, the congregation met in homes, and then in a former schoolhouse. The second story of the building served as the beginning of the Swanson Christian School, beginning in fall 1978. The congregation erected a new church building and dedicated it on 21 June 1980. The school was held in the basement until a new school adjacent to the church was completed in 1986.
After serving two years as a nonresident minister, Ben Hiebert and his family moved to the community in April 1980 as the congregation's first local minister.
In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The ministers were Con Barkman and Warren Isaac.
