The Swan River Valley Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation at Swan River, MB began services and formally organized in 1968. The first building was occupied in 1975. The congregation later met in the Kenville Hall and the Kenville United Church prior to building its own church building 13 miles southwest of Swan Lake in 1974/75.
