The Sunset Gardens Mennonite Brethren Church was organized on the western edge of Fresno, California in 1952 as a home missions project of the Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Its ministry focused primarily on Hispanic people in that area, though it primarily utilized the English language and was attended by people from various ethnic backgrounds. In 1965 the congregation experienced a schism, out of which was founded the Faith Mennonite Brethren Church of Fresno. The Sunset Gardens congregation closed in 1968.
