Spring Valley Hutterite Colony in Wessington Springs, South Dakota was founded in 1964 as a division from the Platte Hutterite Colony

Daughter colonies of Spring Valley Hutterite Colony include Norfeld Hutterite Colony (White, South Dakota) and Upland Hutterite Colony (Letcher, South Dakota, USA).

In 2021 the Spring Valley Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
