Southern Hope Mennonite Church (Victoria, Texas, USA)
The Southern Hope Mennonite Church on the edge of Victoria, Texas, USA was established in 1993. The congregation started when families began to move to the Victoria area in 1976. In 1978, together with the families living in the El Campo area, the El Campo-Victoria congregation was formed. For a time they met in rented facilities in Edna, Texas, about halfway between the two settlements. In 1980 a church was built in the El Campo area, and the Victoria-based families traveled great distances to worship. In 1992/93 the Victoria families, with the help of other congregations, built their own church building. The first service was held in March 1993.
The Southern Hope Mennonite School began in 1995.
In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The minister was Ron Ensz.
