Shalom Community Church (Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA)
The Ann Arbor Mennonite Fellowship began in 1975 when a group of participants in the Ann Arbor Mennonite Church withdrew in a desire for a less structured congregation. The Fellowship, which was larger than the parent church, was led by unordained lay leaders until early 1992. The early leaders included Ron Guengerich, Gertrude Warkentin, and Shelly Weaverdyck.
In March 1992 a restart church plant began that included the Fellowship. Kathy Neufeld Dunn provided pastoral leadership for the venture that also included the Church of the Brethren. The group took the name Shalom Community Church and began to meet at the Lawton Elementary School in Ann Arbor.
In 2022 the congregation remained part of the Central District Conference of Mennonite Church USA as well as the Michigan District of the Church of the Brethren.
