Schermanchowitz (Moravia, Czech Republic)

Schermanch(h)owitz, a Bruderhof of the Hutterian Brethren in Moravia. In 1620 it was attacked by soldiers and in 1621 plundered. In October 1622 "upon command of Emperor Ferdinand, through the instigation and incitation of the Cardinal of Dietrichstein," they were expelled, leaving all their possessions behind. They settled in Hungary.
