Rowe Mennonite Church, located four miles west of Shippensburg, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, was organized in 1840. In 1957 it had 108 members, with Amos E. Martin as bishop and Paul C. Martin as minister, and was a member of the Washington County, Maryland, and Franklin County, Pennsylvania Conference.

In 1965 the Rowe congregation was part of a division in the Washington County, Maryland, and Franklin County, Pennsylvania Conference led by Bishop Amos E. Martin. Rowe became part of the Washington-Franklin (North) Conference, which itself divided in 1971. At that time Rowe followed Amos E. Martin as he formed the Cumberland Valley Mennonite Church.
