Rothen, David (19th century)

David Rothen, a schoolteacher and hymn writer of the Palatinate, Germany, stemmed from Switzerland and was received by baptism in the Mennonite congregation at Friedelsheim on 21 May 1830, and then served as a teacher on the Branchweilerhof. In 1832 he immigrated to America. Eight of his hymns were adopted into the hymnal of the Mennonites of South Germany.
