Rocky View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada)
The Rocky View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation at Pincher Creek, AB began services in 1966, and formally organized in 1967. The first building was occupied in 1971. Emery Ensz and Ray Nikkel are considered the founding leaders of the group. The congregation originated through colonization from Kansas.
In 1975 there were 39 members; in 1985, 56; in 2000, 96. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The language of worship is German.
The church's address is Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0. (403) 627-2466. The meetinghouse is located 1.5 km south, 2 km east of Pincher Creek on Hwy. 507. Minister Ray Nikkel served in 2001 as a non-salaried congregational leader. The congregation also operates Rocky View Christian School.
