Rockwell Mennonite Church (MC), now extinct, located in Sheffield, Bureau County, Illinois, was organized in 1945 under the District Mission Board of the Illinois Mennonite Conference. The first services, in 1943, were held in homes; later they were held in the Danish Lutheran Church in Sheffield. The 1948 membership of 17 consisted largely of Mennonites who had moved there from other communities. Ministers who served the congregation were John S. Detwiler 1945-47 and John I. Byler 1948-1950. It was last listed in the Yearbook of 1950, when it had 22 members.
