Puppius Robertus (17th century)

Puppius Robertus was a Reformed minister at Middelie and after 1617 at Edam, who attacked the Mennonites, especially the Waterlander preacher Anthony Jacobsz, in three books: Bewijs van den Kinder-doop, dat de selve uyt Gode is, ende niet uyt den Menschen; teghen de Mennisten (Amster­dam, 1614); Bewijs van den Weder-doop, dat deselve uyt den Menschen is, ende niet uyt Gode; teghen den Mennisten (Amsterdam, 1614), and Bescherminghe des Kinder-doops, teghen Anthoni Ja­cobsz (Amsterdam, 1617 and 1629). Puppius was opposed by Cornelis Jacobsz in his Proces op en tegen het Protest gedaen van R. Puppium aengaende den Kinder-doop (Amsterdam, 1618).
