Prince George Chinese Christian Fellowship (Prince George, British Columbia, Canada)
Prince George Chinese Christian Fellowship began as a mission of the Southern Baptist Conference in Prince George, British Columbia. Nahim Yip, director of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Northern British Columbia, began coordinating work with Chinese students in 2004. Eventually the group of 15-20, composed of both Cantonese and Mandarin speaking people, requested a relationship with the British Columbia (BC) Conference of Mennonite Brethren (MB) Churches so that they could relate to an English congregation. The group then connected with Westwood MB Church. In fall 1996 an organizational meeting was held and a church planting committee was elected. The church received funding from the BC MB Board of Church Extension for several years and in July 2003, Wallace Sung was installed as church planting pastor. A group of Chinese MB churches in Vancouver, known as the Vancouver Chinese Ministerial, played an active role in guiding the work of the church plant.
