Prairie Mennonite Fellowship in Crystal City, Manitoba, Canada began in Spring 2020 as a merger of the Crystal City Mennonite Church and the Trinity Mennonite Fellowship in Mather, Manitoba. The idea merging had been discussed for almost a decade, but the official process began in 2018.

During the first year each church facilitated conversations within its own congregation. In November 2019 the two churches voted to amalgamate, with strong support in favor of the union. Then came logistics. The biggest issue was selecting which building to use and which to leave behind. A neighboring Hutterite colony wanted to buy Trinity Mennonite, along with all the other buildings in Mather. Some Trinity congregants were against the proposition and some were for it, a situation that created tension and conflict. Ultimately the decision was made to use Crystal City's building and to sell the Trinity property.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, it was not possible to have in-person closing ceremonies. The new congregation worshipped together online and on 28 June 2020 held its first in-person worship service.

Erin Morash had begun serving both Crystal City Mennonite Church and Trinity Mennonite Fellowship in Mather in September 2006 and continued as pastor of the new congregation.
