Nieuwezijl (Groningen, Netherlands)
Nieuwezijl (Niezijl) is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen, where Leenaert Bouwens in 1551-1554 baptized five persons, and where a Mennonite congregation later came into being, which joined the Friesche Sociëteit (Conference of Friesland) in 1695 (membership then only 11), but soon after that date merged with the Pieterzijl Mennonite congregation.
