The Mountainview Grace Church in Calgary began services and formally organized in 1995. Prayer began in 1993 for a Chinese church planter in Calgary. The search for a Chinese candidate was a cooperative effort between the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren (MB) Churches Church Extension Commission and British Columbia Chinese MB pastors. David Chan, pastor of Pacific Grace MB Church in Vancouver, recommended Andy Ng, a graduate of Prairie Bible Seminary in Calgary and a recent intern at South Calgary Alliance Church. The congregation joined the Alberta MB Conference in March 1996 with 40 charter members.

The language of worship is Chinese.
