Isaak Molenaar III, a Dutch Mennonite minister, a son of Isaak Molenaar II, was born at Irnsum, Dutch province of Friesland, on 7 December 1848, studied at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary 1868-1873; served as preacher in Berlikum 1872-1875; in Almelo 1875-1877; in West Zaandam 1877-1914; retired on 21 June 1914, and died on 12 October 1935. After his resignation a collection of his sermons, entitled Preeken (Amsterdam, 1915), was published by the church board of Zaandam. In 1897 he published a study on S. Hoekstra Bzn, entitled Professor Hoekstra (Haarlem, 1897); he also wrote the articles "Hoekstra" and "Opzoomer" in the Realenzyklopaedie für protestantische Theologie und Kirche, third edition. D. Attema wrote a sketch of his life and work in the Zondagsbode, 20 October 1935.
