Herman Moded, (also called Herman Strijcker) (1530-1603), a Dutch Reformed divine. His career was very changeful. He became Reformed about 1558 and was made court chaplain and professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark; later he preached in Flanders; after 1567 he was preacher of the Dutch refugee church at Norwich, England. In 1572 he organized the Reformed congregation in Zierikzee, Dutch province of Zeeland. From 1580-1588 he was the preacher of the Reformed congregation in Utrecht. After 1595 he lived in Middelburg (Zeeland). One of the books he published dealt with the Mennonites; it was originally written by Pieter Pauwels in Norwich; Moded corrected and enlarged it and published it with the title Grondich bericht, Van de eerste beghinselen der Wederdoopsche Seckten ende wat veelderley verscheyden tacken, een yder met zyn aert ende dryven, doer wt gesproten zyn (Middelburg, 1603). Robbert Robbertsz replied to it with Een cleyn briefken, tegen Harmen Modeth, Predicant (Middelburg, 1603).
