Meadowview Mennonite Church (Lansing, North Carolina, USA)
The Meadowview Mennonite Church near Lansing, North Carolina, USA began in the early 1950s when Aquila Stoltzfus organized a Bible School and Sunday School in the area in a local schoolhouse. Later meetings were held at Stanton Blevins' store.
Paul and Rachel Mast were selected to provide leadership to the mission work and moved to the area in April 1956. Initially, they worshipped at the Big Laurel church, but in the fall erected a tent on Floyd Perry's land. Construction on a building began by the end of the summer on land donated by Ida Tucker on the understanding the building could be used by the community for funeral services. The first service in the new building was held on 16 November 1956.
In April 2002 Meadowview withdrew from the Atlantic Coast Conference and Mennonite Church USA. This was a time of significant realignment of Mennonite churches when many were concerned about the polity and practices of the new Mennonite Church USA. Meadowview became an independent Mennonite congregation at that time.
