Mara Christian Church of America Indiana (Indianapolis, Indiana, USA)
The Mara Christian Church of America Indiana, Greenwood, Indiana, south of central Indianapolis, is one of four Mara churches in the United States. It is composed of Mara people from the Chhimtuipui district of southern Mizoram, India, and the adjacent villages in Burma. Mara is a language group of the Chin people.
The Indianapolis congregation began in 2013 and explored a relationship with the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference of Mennonite Church USA in 2015. It initially met in the Chin Community Center and later in the Shalom Mennonite Church building. On 16 June 2016, the conference accepted the Mara Christian Church of America as a member congregation.
In 2017, the congregation purchased its own building in Greenwood with conference assistance.
