Maeyken Pickelin, an Anabaptist martyr, a simple, pious woman, who suffered a martyr's death in 1590 after much suffering. In his account van Braght (Martyrs' Mirror) does not relate particulars nor the place and exact date of her execution. Notwithstanding her Dutch Christian name it is unlikely that she was a native of the Netherlands. She may have been German and put to death in Germany.
