Petrus de Luyck was a Dutch Reformed minister at Groede, Zeeland, Flanders, who published Het eerste deel van den Spiegel der Waerheyt, waerinne duydelick ghesien wort, dat de Mennisten, aennopende de H. Schrifture, zijn een verwardt Babel ende Midianitisch ghevecht onder malcanderen (Vlissingen, 1633); there is also an edition published at Rotterdam in the same year. In this rare book, containing seven dialogues, a number of Mennonite leaders are attacked by the author, including Menno Simons, Dirk Philips, Jacques Outerman, Claes Claesz of Blokzijl, Francois de Knuyt, Anthoni Jacobsz, Jacob Pietersz van der Meulen, and Cornelis de Kuyper. This book is valuable not for the strict Calvinistic views and arguments, which are almost all borrowed from H. Faukelius, Babel der Wederdoperen of 1621, but for the fact that some Mennonite writings are named in it, which have since been lost.
