Loos was a Mennonite family, particularly living at Blokzijl, Dutch province of Overijssel. They usually were lumber dealers and some of them were deacons of the Mennonite congregation. One of them was Jacob Loos Bzn (1839-1890), who served for 30 years as treasurer of the Blokzijl church board.
