Long Lake Hutterite Colony was founded in 1967 (Hofer says 1963) as a division from the Pearl Creek Hutterite Colony

Grassland Hutterite Colony in Westport, South Dakota, is a daughter colony.

In 2017 the Long Lake Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
