Isaac, August, and Henry Leisy, all Mennonites and brothers from [[Friedelsheim (Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)|Friedelsheim]], [[Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)|Palatinate]], [[Germany|Germany]], who came to the [[United States of America|United States]] in 1852, founded the Leisy Brewery in Keokuk, Iowa, in 1862.
