Langegger, Hans (d. 1529)
Hans (Hans von der Reve) Langegger (Langecker), a weaver on the Ritten, was an Anabaptist martyr of Tyrol, Austria (now Italy). All that is known of him is that he accompanied Georg Blaurock on his wanderings in the Tirolean Alps, when he came into the Eisack Valley to take over the orphan congregation of Michael Kürschner, who had been put to death at Innsbruck on 2 June 1529. Langegger assisted Blaurock, one of the founders of the Zürich brotherhood, with his knowledge of the rugged Tirolean terrain. It may have been due to his skill that Blaurock, who had a large following everywhere, was able to elude the authorities for nearly four months. On 14 August 1529 both were discovered and arrested; and since they persisted in their faith they were burned at the stake at Klausen in the Eisack Valley.
